… is to create or modify recipes that are worthy of “serving company,” while addressing my daughter’s specific needs in regard to foods that must absolutely be avoided. Many of the recipes can easily be modified to match an individual preference, while still cooking with simple and clean (as in no surprises) ingredients.

So, here is the list of foods I could not use…

-Apple
-Barley
-Basil
-Cane Sugar
-Carob
-Cayenne Pepper
-Chick Pea (Garbanzo)
-Chicken
-Cinnamon
-Citric Acid
-Clove
-Cottonseed
-Cow’s Milk
-Cranberry
-Cumin
-Flounder
-Fructose (HFCS)
-Grape
-Iceberg Lettuce
-Lamb
-Lime
-Mango
-Millet
-Oats
-Orange
-Paprika
-Rosemary
-Soy
-Strawberry
-Tomato
-Vanilla
-Wheat… occasionally

Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, until you start reading labels. Soy is in many products, including vitamins, bread, body wash… lime is in fish oil supplements… rosemary is in supplements… carob is in herb tea, supplements, listed as locust bean in dairy products… grapes and apples are in vinegar which is a common ingredient in many products… and the list goes on and on and on.
