Autumn

My dear friend Alice, a prolific writer and educator, introduced me to a poetry style commonly used in elementary school when we were children. Thanks Alice, for all the great ideas!

As the sun tilts its head

Under an amber sky,

There appears a shimmering glow

Unveiling what draws nigh.

Myriad of colors

Nuances unfold,

Swirling all about

Gossamer leaves of gold.

Lacy crimson dancers

Ode to a great sojourn,

Whisper “Adieu for now, soon to return.”
